Aggregates &
prices

We make the material the work is built on. Woods Excavating produces and processes our own aggregate: crushing, screening, and stockpiling on our own equipment. That means availability our schedule controls, and quality we stand behind because we made it. Sold direct from both pits. Prices below are per loaded yard; the PDF governs.

Why local material matters to your project

Nearly everything built starts with aggregate: road base, foundation drainage, pipe bedding, concrete. Producing it here, responsibly, is part of how communities get built without trucking everything in from somewhere else.

Common questions about buying material

Ordering & pickup

How do I order sand, gravel, or stone?

Call the office at 207-839-4604 with the product, the yardage, and whether you're picking up or having it delivered. The pits load Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Are the pits open to the public?

Yes. Both pits sell to contractors, landscapers, and homeowners alike.

Which pit should I come to?

Baxter Pit in Standish carries the full product line and the crushing operation; use 401 Pequawket Trail for GPS. Lily Pit in Buxton handles sand, gravel, loam, and disposal on that side of the service area.

Delivery

Do you deliver, and what does it cost?

Yes. Delivery is priced per yard by distance from the pit, with the rate bands published on this page. There is a $50 minimum aggregate purchase.

How many yards does a dump truck hold?

Woods delivery loads run 12–18 yards depending on the truck. Not sure how many yards your project needs? Call 207-839-4604 and the office will help you figure it.

Prices

What does a load of gravel cost?

The per-yard price on the gravel table times the yardage, plus the delivery band for your distance if we truck it. Call with your address and product and the office will quote the exact number before anything rolls.

Are these prices current?

Prices are per loaded yard, effective April 1, 2026. The official price list PDF governs, and it's viewable and downloadable right on this page.
